post script . . .

I washed my jersey today.

Before, I had been saying I wouldn't wash it until the Stars brought home the Stanley Cup.  But after Friday night (and the fact several people said it was getting pretty ripe), I decided them it wouldn't be feasable to let it go another day.

This is my look back on the Stars season and some random thoughts of my own.

In the end, the Stars outshot the Wings at the Joe 42-11.  LW Paul Kariya threw in one goal and first line center Sergei Fedorov also made his presence known.

In the pre-season, I was of the opinion that Dallas should've thrown some stupid money the way of these two hold outs.  So, just to satisfy my curiousity on how things would've been, I simulated the season on NHL 98.

It still took the Stars 6 tries to win the Stanley Cup.

In my dreams . . .
Animated EddieDon't blame Eddie for the meltdown in the Finals.  He played his ass off just to get them there.  Besides, your team has to be playing in front of you -- read that as SCORING! -- against a team like Detroit.

And while I'm talking about goalies, I am still NOT on board with Chris Osgood.  My opinion:  he's still just "spare to fair."  He just benefitted from playing a team that acted like they were on the Bret Farve diet (beer and vicodin)

By the way, I've got four words for all you Detroit fans:  The New Jersey Devils.

Someone told me I need to root for Detroit against Washington in the Stanley Cup Finals because they beat the Stars . . .

Yeah, and find me a good Cowboys fan that would root for the Redskins for anything.
