us your tired, your hungry, your huddled masses. Your goal scorers. Your punch throwers. For the second straight year, the Stars have scored the big free agent coup with the signing of former St. Louis forward, Brett Hull. Even with some of their impact players out for the early part of the season, the Stars have greatly upgraded their offensive capablilties. But for some reason, a local scribe has decided this move was the wrong move and that what the Stars needed was something they got last year. Goaltending. Keith Gave, I have to pull the bullshit card on you.
But . . . These players need more than a Derian Hatcher to protect them. Hatch is a good player but he doesn't put the fear of God into anyone. What other hitters do we have? Bob "Mr. Buck-sixty" Bassen? If anythig, the Stars need to protect their stars in whats quickly becoming the Goon Division with the San Jose's signings of Gary Sutter and their long-term penning of the Knee Weasel, Bryan Marchment. You're right Keith, this signing doesn't worry the Wings because the Wings know as ill-protected as we are, we might not make it far enough to face them. Leave Eddie alone, Keith. You know you love him. The Stars just need one big, surly, piece to complete their puzzle. And then, in the spirit of the previous holiday weekend, we can have life, liberty and pursuit of the Stanley Cup. |
