The third period rolled around and we were up 2-0. Thoughts of my first shutout danced through my head. I spoke to no one and did my best not to look at the scoreboard. I had held solid until midway through the period when team captain Kim Savage mentioned to someone on the bench that. "Hey, Joe might get a shutout." That was all it took. My sensitive goalie hearing picked it up, causing a sudden brain cramp. Then it was 2-1. |

But that's all they would get. Following that, our forwards would lower the boom on the hapless 'Canes. |
