Hall of fame goaltender Glenn
Hall used to throw up. Eddie
Belfour takes a nap. Me?
Before a game, I scarf down about a pound of chicken fried rice and lay in my
bed, knowing full well that my eyes are locked in a fully open position. Every
Friday, I find myself wishing I could relax before a game. Hell, even DURING the
game for that matter! I tend to get myself a little bunged up no matter how I
try not to. | This
game was no different. In fact, I was more nervous that usual. It was the battle
of the undefeateds. Whoever won would be the undisputed number one in the league.
To add to the mounting pressure, my
opposite number (the Blades goalie) was the best goalie in the league with a staggering
save percentage of .929 and a goals against of 0.5. That's right: he didn't even
give up a goal a game. | |

I on the other hand, brought a mediocre
save percentage of .827 and marginal goals against of 2.5 to the
table. But this was the red letter game of the season, I
had to find a way to be better.
